Room Redo: Update

Oh man. I hate having a project burning a hole in my brain. I get no rest. It’s exhausting. Yesterday I made Amelia lay on the floor of her closet while I organized a few things in there. She thought it was funny. Crazy Mama.

Today I recruited Dave to help. He must have made a dozen trips from the bedrooms up to the attic. And it’s not easy to get up to that attic. There’s a scary ladder that pulls down from the ceiling. Yikes.

I never thought I would have made this much progress on the guest room in only two days, but my amazing sister-in-law Kayla found a great duvet yesterday for only $10. $10! It wasn’t exactly what I had in mind for the room but the price was perfect. So we put the new duvet in the master bedroom (where it looks awesome) and moved our white duvet into the guest room. Then, since our turquoise curtains didn’t match the master bedroom anymore, we moved those into the guest room too. It reminded me of a color scheme I had scene on the interwebs somewhere. Turquoise, white, and….red.

Isn’t that fun? So that’s what we’re going with. So far we have the white bed, turquoise curtains, and a few turquoise pillows that I shopped from other rooms of the house.

Now we need some red! Can’t wait to hit up JoAnn’s for some fun fabric to cover more pillows.

Since we pushed the bed against the wall to make room for a little night stand, we’re pretending it’s a day bed.  Never you mind those orange and blue pillows that sneaked into the picture.

And look! The drums and vacuum have a new home inside the closet. The printer is still hanging out in the corner. Haven’t yet figured out where that’s going.

But I’m happy with the progress we’ve made so far.

Not too bad for $10 and two days.
